In the house there were some wax figures. One was of Alf sitting in his room reading the newspaper and the other one was of Mrs Pumphry and her dog Tricky Woo. Mrs Pumphrey was a very rich lady and she spoilt her dog Tricky a lot.

Holly 21 Thirsk
Today we went into Thirsk to see the Herriot Museum. It is about a man whose name was Alf Wright and he wrote lots of books about his adventures as a vet. We have watched a tv series about it called All Creature Great and Small. Because he was a vet he had to change his name to James Herriot in the books because back then if you wrote your own name in a book people would say you were advertising and you weren't allowed to do that.
