Holly 13, 9th & 10th June

9 June
Today we went to a village called Castle Combe and it was very lovely. We went there becasue Mum wanted to see some thatched roofs.
Also we found a creek so Aidan and I took our shoes off so we could paddle.  We took Rufus in and he loved it.

Some of the houses had cakes and things outside that you could buy.  In the creek there were some trout and Aidan and I tried to catch them.

Today we went to a place where there were fallow deer. We went on a walk with a ranger and it was very interesting. There were lots of deer. Did you know that a female deer is called a doe and a male is a buck and baby is a fawn. The fallow deer are spotted.

We also saw a deer carved into a log with a chainsaw.

There were also cows because the cows  eat the long grass and the deer eat the short grass so they go very well together.  The cows do sloppier poos than the deer because the cows drink more water. The deer mostly get their water from the grass.

We saw a ramp in a cattle grid for the hedgehogs so if they fell in they can climb out.
