Aidan 17, London to Wales

 Saturday 18th June

Today we went to a market. We bought a baguette and a big pretzel and tried samples of some of the other things in the market. The market was big, much bigger than the market back at home.

Then we got on a bus to go the Trafalgar Square to have a look at a concert called West End Live 2016. We got a photo with  spiderman and a Stormtrooper and listened to some music for a while.

We then walked down to horse guards
then back up to west end live for a bit.

At ten to four went to horse guards to watch the dismounting ceremony that started at 4:00. The guards came out a bit early to wait for the inspector to come out and inspect them. This all started when Queen Victoria found the guards partying in the afternoon so she said they have to be inspected at 4 o'clock for the next 100 years.  When the 00 years was up Queen Elizabeth said they had to keep doing it because it is now a tradition.

When the guards on the horse dismount the boss will shout dismount and one of the guards on the horse will be the leader and he will hit the saddle to tell the others it is time to dismount. They swing their leg over and stand on the left stirrup then the lead guard hit the saddle again and they jump off the horse together.

 Sunday 19th June
We also went to the Covent Garden market. We saw one street show. The man that was doing it did a lot of FUNNY stuff. We got a pizza but holly got a hot dog then we got an ice cream sundae because McDonald's did not have any cones left so we had to get a sundae. We couldn't get an ice cream after seeing horse guards because the ice cream machine was broken.

Monday 20th June

Yesterday we got up at went to have breakfast in the hotel then went back to our room at the hotel called the Premier Inn then we hopped in the car to start our three hours and a half drive to Wales for a house sit for a week.

The house sit has three cats their names are Tinker, Ben and Beau. Tinker is a friendly ginger cat the other two we have not seen yet. The mail in at this house sit goes into a letter box like at home but it is on the side of the house. They also have a milkman who brings two bottles of milk and puts them in a box by the front door for us to take into the house.

I do the cats because mum and Holly don’t like the wet food and because I like doing it. We started with the people in their house because they were leaving very early in the morning.  I got to have a cuddle with Tinker in the morning.
Tinker is the uncle of the other two Ben and Beau.

  1. Pyper loves your storm trooper photo.

    I love the giant pretzel.
I saw a street performer in Sydney just like the one you saw. He was pretending to be Jack Sparrow and he wrapped him self in chains and swallowed a key as well.
